FPGA IP Cores

Sheldon Instruments now offers a variety of FPGA IP cores for several complex interfaces (PCIExpress, Serial Rapid IO, Conventional PCI, I2C, and SDRAM), and digital signal processing (1D/2D FFTs, Phase Correlation) supporting Lattice, Xilinx, and Altera platforms. For more demanding applications, Sheldon Instruments can custom-design the interface to fit your needs, or provide technical support for those designing their own interfaces.

Interfaces

PCI Express
The PCI Express (PCIe) cores handle all details of PCIe layer implementation with user access to the entire Transaction Layer Packet (TLP), with options for a parallel bus interface on the user side to manage TLP details and configure DMA channels.

SRIO
Serial RapidIO (SRIO) is a high performance packet-switched, serial interconnect bus.

Conventional PCI
The Conventional PCI core supports Target and Bus Mastering, along with Scatter Gather DMA transfers.

Tri Speed Ethernet MAC
Tri Speed Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC) suports 10/100/1000Mb full duplex communications, and can interface to MII/GMII/SGMII Phy devices.

I2C
Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) is a high performance, multi-master single-ended serial bus.

SDRAM Memory Controller
SDRAM memory controller for SDR, DDR1, DDR2, and DDR3 memories in a variety of configurations.

Signal Processing

FFT
1D and 2D FFTs cores for real-time signal processing, with flexible binarily expandable sizes.

Phase Correlation
The phase correlation IP is used for image recognition and target tracking applications, and is a highly integrated and parallel design enabling a throughput of several thousands of frames per second, with an efficient architecture that's scalable to power of square frame sizes.
