JTAG Emulators for our DSP Boards

All of our DSP boards feature a standard JTAG connector that can be used to attach an emulator. Experienced DSP programmers can develop their DSP code using Code Composer Studio, and if necessary, debug it on our boards with a JTAG emulator.

The JTAG emulators from EWA Technologies are great tools for developers who want to program our Sheldon Instruments TI C6713 based DSP boards in C/C++ or Assembler. We only resell them bundled with our DSP boards, as a Development Bundle. Optionally, you can also get the Code Composer Studio C/C++/Assembler tools included in the Development Bundle. This way, you can buy all the required tools in one complete Development Bundle, without having to contact multiple vendors.

Developers programming Sheldon Instruments DSP boards with our proprietary QuVIEW/QuBASE tools in LabVIEW or Visual Basic do not require a C compiler or an emulator; QuVIEW and QuBASE come free of charge with Sheldon Instruments DSP board.

	Blackhawk USB560	The Blackhawk™ USB560 JTAG Emulator is the first XDS560™-class emulator using the high-speed USB host interface. Using the USB 2.0 host interface, the USB560 JTAG Emulator will link the GUI debugger (Code Composer Studio™ v3.x), running on a PC workstation or portable computer, to the target DSP. This enables the developer to take advantage of the latest emulation technology from TI and use it anywhere. As a member of the Blackhawk XDS560™-class emulator family, the USB560 supports the latest generation of emulation technology from Texas Instruments, including high-speed RTDX™ data link at over 2 Mbytes per second and Advanced Event Triggering. The USB560 can also interface to XDS510™-class drivers, extending compatibility to more TI DSP devices and Code Composer Studio™ (CCStudio) Integrated Development Environment versions than any other XDS560™-class emulator, resulting in the most cost effective emulator solution available today. The added benefit of the Blackhawk™ USB560 JTAG Emulator is that it supports remote Ethernet operation. Blackhawk's Remote Ethernet Software allows an XDS560-class emulator installed in a PC with Ethernet interface to be accessed over a local area network (LAN) from another PC running Code Composer Studio.
	Blackhawk USB560BP	The Blackhawk™ USB560BP JTAG Emulator has the same features as the XDS560, but is USB powered.
	Blackhawk USB510L	The low cost Blackhawk™ USB510L JTAG Emulator is the most compact and lightweight JTAG emulator available. The USB bus powered design, which requires no external power source, is the ultimate in portability resulting in an ultra-compact unit that is very affordable. The USB port is Plug n’ Play compatible with Windows® 98/ME/2000/XP. Software compatibility with all versions of Code Composer and Code Composer Studio including v3.x and above, and a driver independent DLL developed by Blackhawk, assures existing and future device compatibility for legacy or new DSP’s right out of the box with no upgrades required. The Blackhawk USB510 includes legacy support for Code Composer v4.1x and CCStudio v1.2 gives users access and compatibility to VC33, C20x and C24x. The USB510L JTAG Emulator is also compatible with Code Composer Studio™ Flash-burner utility.

	Blackhawk PCI510	The Blackhawk™ PCI JTAG Emulator is a high-performance PCI-based JTAG Emulator for Texas Instruments TMS320, TMS470 (ARM) and OMAP families. The half-length PCI card features a variable TCK (timing clock) up to 35MHz and includes a detachable, 5 1/2 foot multi-voltage cable/pod assembly. Drivers are provided for Windows® 2000/XP. Blackhawk also offers a remote Ethernet client application that allows the PCI JTAG Emulator to be remotely accessed over a TCP/IP network permitting central location of debug resources. Software compatibility with all versions of Code Composer and Code Composer Studio including v3.x and above, and a driver independent DLL developed by Blackhawk, assures existing and future device compatibility for legacy or new DSP's right out of the box with no upgrades required.
